What happened in the 2023 MT legislature?

Legislative efforts we fought against:
  • enshrining trapping as a personal right in the MT Constitution
  • permanently expanding wolf trapping
  • allowing nonresidents to kill "predators" from the air
  • allowing for various ways to kill grizzly bears
Some great legislation that we fought for:  
  • removing reimbursement for killing wolves
  • allowing FWP to regulate wolf hunting & trapping near national parks
  • requiring trappers to post warning signs on public lands
